Macmillan's Holiday Villas

Excellent value for money Just what you need to explore the island . Better than it looks in the pictures. Every thing was brand new and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Conveniently located nearby lots of restaurants and markets

We tried to book this accommodation on airbnb, we got a price for 12 people, and then we got a message 3 days later, that we have to book another two villas, because only 4 people can sleep in this price. We tried to book another villa, but the second one was almost twice the price... anyway the photos looks cool...

We chose Macmillan’s Villas to be our HQ on Praslin and it was a good choice. We had a villa with one bedroom, living room + kitchen and bathroom with shower. The great thing about it was that it was all brand new, clean and very comfortable - we had a dishwasher, washing machine, rice cooker, toaster, kettle, oven, you name it :) you can also chill on the terrace and park your car right in front of the appartment. The owners were friendly and the cleaning lady arrived every other day. Super nice. The location is very calm, away from the main road and with a small jungle behind the windows. What would be nice is a better lounging area. As this accomodation is not on the beach front, maybe a pool or at least some bigger garden would be great. Now although you have a big terrace, you spend your time there overlooking the parking lot, which is a bit weird :) We had a car the whole time, so we were ok, but maybe bikes to rent as we have seen in other places would be a nice addition too. That way the villas would get the 5* for sure. But overall very comfortable place, which made out stay really amazing! Thank you 🙏🏻

A short walk to the beach, a short walk to restaurants and supermarkets. Anyway, for exploring the island I recommend renting a car. Renting a car for a whole day, including petrol, will cost you about the same as two taxi rides.. 😁

We recently stayed at Macmillans Villas and overall, the accommodation was exactly as shown in the photos. However, there were a few important issues that affected our experience. Firstly, the safe in our apartment was not working, which was inconvenient. Especially because we had to take our valuables with us everytime while we were out. More concerning was the fact that someone – either the owner or staff (it was never clearly communicated) – entered our apartment whenever we were out, without any prior notice or permission. This felt quite intrusive and made it difficult to fully relax during our stay. We believe this kind of access should be clearly communicated and agreed upon with guests in advance. Another negative aspect was the sleeping comfort: The beds were unfortunately very uncomfortable and squeaked loudly with every movement, which significantly affected our sleep. Additionally, there was no proper blackout in the bedrooms, so it got very bright early in the morning. Additionally, although we had paid in full before arrival, we were still asked to pay the full amount again one day before we left. This was frustrating and created unnecessary confusion, even though it was eventually resolved. The location of the villa is not ideal for exploring Praslin, as most of the island’s highlights – such as Anse Lazio, Anse Volbert (Côte d’Or) – are located on the opposite side of the island. For future visitors, we would recommend considering accommodation at Palm Holiday Apartement which is next door, or even better in Côte d’Or, which is more central and better connected to beaches, restaurants, and tour operators.
