Praslin is the second-largest island of the Seychelles and is known for its relaxed atmosphere, stunning beaches, and extraordinary natural beauty. Located about 45 kilometres northeast of Mahé, the island offers visitors a slower pace of life while still providing excellent tourism infrastructure.
Praslin is perhaps most famous for the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often described as the “Garden of Eden.” This ancient palm forest is home to the legendary Coco de Mer, the world’s largest seed, which grows naturally only in the Seychelles. The island is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette are regularly ranked among the most stunning beaches on the planet, with their powder-soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and dramatic granite boulders.
Despite its natural beauty, Praslin remains peaceful and welcoming. Small guesthouses, boutique hotels, and family-run accommodations offer an authentic Seychellois experience, while local restaurants serve fresh seafood and traditional Creole cuisine.
Praslin is also an ideal base for exploring nearby islands such as Curieuse, St. Pierre, and Cousin Island, where visitors can encounter giant tortoises, colourful coral reefs, and protected nature reserves.
